Albeda and Zadkine have proposed joining forces, but their merger remains a plan and would not happen before the 2028–29 school year.

Albeda and Zadkine, two Dutch vocational colleges, want to merge into one institution serving the Rotterdam-Rijnmond region. Together, they currently teach about 38,000 students. The merger could take place no earlier than the 2028–29 school year. [1]
The colleges cite the rapidly changing labour market as a reason for the plan. They say they considered different ways of working together before concluding that a merger would better serve students, staff and the region. [1]
The colleges say the proposal does not currently bring changes for students, staff, businesses or other partners. [1]
