Bomb disposal specialists have declared a bag safe after a bomb alert at Leeuwarden air base in the Netherlands.

The Royal Netherlands Marechaussee arrested the man on Wednesday, 30 September, following a bomb report at Leeuwarden air base in the Netherlands. He had shouted that he was carrying a bomb, ANP reported, citing a Marechaussee spokesperson. [1]
The Defence Explosive Ordnance Disposal Service was examining the package, with a result expected shortly. Whether it contained explosives was still unknown. [1]
The Dutch military’s explosive ordnance disposal service finished examining the bag at about 16:00 on Wednesday. It found no explosive and declared the bag safe, ANP reported, citing a Royal Netherlands Marechaussee spokesperson. [2]
The man carrying the bag had been detained after telling security outside the base that he had a bomb. What was in the bag has not been disclosed. [2]
