The eighth seed saved a break point in the opening game, then won nine games in a row from 2-2 in the first set. Golubic took the penultimate game, but Boulter closed out the match. She will play either Croatia’s Antonia Ruzic or American Kayla Day next. [1]
Boulter said strong winds made conditions difficult and that she was pleased to stay patient. She added that she played particularly well in the second set. [1]
The 30-year-old is set to regain the British number one ranking after Sonny Kartal moved ahead of her on Monday, according to BBC Sport. [1]
