Two people have died and two others have been injured after a vehicle struck pedestrians taking part in a community walk marking Canada’s National Day for Truth and Reconciliation in British Columbia.

The collision happened in a car park on Tsawwassen First Nation land, south of Vancouver, at about 10:25 local time, the Delta Police Department said. The two injured people were receiving hospital treatment. [1]
Local media identified the two people who died as elders of the Tsawwassen First Nation, the BBC reported. [1]
Police said the driver may have been experiencing a medical emergency before the collision. They did not believe the incident was connected to the Truth and Reconciliation Day observance. [1]
