Ontario Provincial Police have laid further charges against Nassim Eronn, 34, of Burlington, in an investigation into alleged theft and fraud involving patients and staff at healthcare facilities across the province. The case began with complaints at Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, where she was first charged in May. None of the charges has been proven in court. [1] [3] [6]
Police have linked the alleged incidents to five facilities: West Park Health Care Centre and St. Joseph’s Health Centre in Toronto, Orillia Soldiers’ Memorial Hospital, Mississauga Hospital and Headwaters Health Care Centre in Orangeville. The periods under investigation run from February 2024 to September 2026, with different dates for each facility. Police said they had identified more potential victims, executed multiple search warrants and seized property. [2] [6]
The listed offences include 36 fraud counts, 14 theft counts, seven counts of disobeying a court order and four of criminal breach of trust. Accounts differ on whether the figure of 65 refers to new charges or the total in the case: The Canadian Press calls them new charges, while Muskoka411 describes 65 offences in total. [2] [3] [6]
Police believe there may be further victims among patients, visitors and staff. They have asked people who attended the facilities during the periods under investigation to check for unauthorised transactions. Anyone wishing to report a fraudulent transaction or theft of cash can contact Orillia OPP on 1-888-310-1122, quoting incident E250834926. [2]
