At 84, the Dutch theatre producer is looking ahead to two musicals while reflecting on his age and health.

Dutch theatre producer Joop van den Ende says he knows his life could end soon, but he is still making plans years ahead. Nieuws.nl reported his remarks on 2 October, citing an interview with Dutch newspaper AD. [1]
Van den Ende is involved in plans to bring The Phantom of the Opera back to the Netherlands in 2028. He is also working on Surabaya Dreams, a musical expected around 2030. [1]
He said he feels well despite neuropathy in his legs, for which he uses a walking frame. Discussing his family's longevity, he mentioned a brother aged 90 and a sister who died at 89. [1]
Van den Ende said making new things is what he enjoys most in life. For now, he shows no sign of wanting to stop working. [1]
