Jaguar’s first publicly shown car from its electric relaunch starts at £130,000 in the UK, with JLR claiming a range of up to 320 miles.

Jaguar unveiled the all-electric Type 01 in New York on Tuesday, the first car to appear publicly as part of its relaunch as a luxury electric brand. The four-door grand tourer has a long bonnet intended to evoke the E-Type. [1]
The BBC reports a UK starting price of £130,000 and a US starting price of $130,500. It says the car produces about 1,000 horsepower and can accelerate from 0 to 62mph in 3.2 seconds. JLR puts its range at up to 320 miles at “sustained highway speed”. These are reported specifications, not independent road-test results. [1]
The launch follows a 2024 identity campaign that drew criticism from some observers, who accused Jaguar of abandoning its heritage. Reaction to the Type 01 has also been divided: luxury-car consultant Craig Kinnersley likened it to a hearse, while Alistair Weaver of vehicle-sales platform Edmunds called its looks polarising but gave Jaguar credit for the design. [1]
The Type 01 is expected to be the first of three new electric Jaguar designs. JLR wound down production of its previous Jaguar models during 2024 and 2025. [1]
