A Pima County Sheriff’s Department spokesperson told TheWrap on 28 September that a joint sheriff’s office and FBI task force had recently learnt of a possible new ransom note. Investigators are also looking into social media comments about the note as they assess its credibility. [1]
Nancy Guthrie, 84, is the mother of television presenter Savannah Guthrie. Her family last saw her when they dropped her off at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on the evening of 31 January. She was reported missing the next day after she did not arrive at a friend’s home to watch an online church service. [1] [2]
Other alleged ransom notes have been examined during the investigation. Some were fake, according to the FBI, as reported by Nieuws.nl. [2]
