Police in the Netherlands have released new footage of the suspected gunman who killed 30-year-old Jaison Baptista Lopes Sanches on a Rotterdam terrace in 2022, offering fresh details about the suspect’s appearance and the firearm used in the killing.
The footage, discussed on the Dutch crime programme *Opsporing Verzocht*, led police to estimate that the gunman is between 1.70 and 1.73 metres tall and walks with a limp because of a physical abnormality, ANP reported.
Police say the firearm used to kill Sanches has also been used in at least four other crimes in Rotterdam. Investigators believe it is repeatedly lent out for criminal jobs.
The shooting took place on 29 October 2022 at a terrace on Tiendplein, in central Rotterdam. Dozens of people witnessed it. Police have described it as a suspected mistaken-identity killing: they say they have found no criminal links for Sanches and believe the shots may have been intended for someone else.
A €30,000 reward had already been offered for information leading to the gunman.
