South African police are hunting gunmen who opened fire at a café west of Johannesburg on Saturday evening, killing 17 people and injuring 15. [1]
Police say the attackers targeted the café, firing first at customers drinking outside before going in. The suspects are reported to have searched some people and taken their phones, fled in two vehicles and set two vehicles alight. The motive remains unknown. [1]
