Jos Buttler will miss England’s 50-over tri-series in Pakistan with a hamstring injury, giving Jordan Cox another chance in the side.

Buttler injured his hamstring while batting against Sri Lanka in a one-day international at Headingley. England coach Brendon McCullum confirmed that Cox would take his place for the series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka, which begins on 20 October. McCullum said it was “hard to judge” how long Buttler would be out. [1]
Cox scored fifties in all three of his Tests against Pakistan and made 76 against Sri Lanka when he stood in for Buttler in the third one-day international at The Oval. [1]
England planned to finalise their squads on Monday, with the next batch of central contracts expected to be announced in the following days. [1]
