Jannik Sinner has ended his five-year coaching partnership with Darren Cahill and will continue with Sweden’s Magnus Norman, the Italian tennis player said in a statement on social media.
Sinner thanked the Australian for his trust, honesty and commitment, saying Cahill had helped him grow as both a player and a person. He said their professional partnership was over but their friendship would continue.
Cahill was part of the team behind Sinner’s rise, according to an ANP report carried by Nieuws.nl. The report did not give details of Norman’s role or the timing of the change.
The coaching announcement comes as Sinner is sidelined by a knee injury. He has not played since winning Wimbledon in July, the report said. He ended his 2026 season early because of the injury, and his absence has left his position at the top of the rankings in question.
