Christina Aguilera joins Chappell Roan on stage in Los Angeles

Christina Aguilera joined Chappell Roan on stage at a Los Angeles concert on Wednesday, singing a duet and performing one of her own hits during the first of two shows whose proceeds will support LGBTQ+ organisations and services for transgender young people, Nieuws.nl reports.

The 45-year-old singer appeared as a surprise guest at Roan’s Super Graphic Spectacular concert. They performed Roan’s song “Coffee”, before Aguilera sang “Beautiful”.

Introducing Aguilera, Roan said she had helped pave the way for women in pop to choose what they sing and wear. Aguilera, in turn, described Roan as an artist who had to be taken seriously from the start, according to Nieuws.nl, citing Billboard.

Proceeds from the two concerts are going to Roan’s Midwest Princess Project, which supports organisations working with transgender young people and the wider LGBTQ+ community.
