Mercedes driver Kimi Antonelli has praised Max Verstappen’s judgement in traffic, using a moment in Madrid to explain what impressed him.

Speaking to journalists, including RacingNews365, Antonelli praised Verstappen’s ability to position his car in traffic. He pointed to the second chicane in Madrid, where he said he abandoned an attempted outside move on Lando Norris and let Norris through too quickly. Antonelli felt he had made a mistake: Verstappen had seen an opening and gone for it. [1]
Antonelli also said Verstappen’s pace could be difficult to judge in practice. He recalled Red Bull looking well off the pace in Monaco’s final practice session before Verstappen came close to pole in qualifying. [1]
