Dutch author Saskia Noort has been nominated for the NS Public Prize for the eighth time, this year for her novel *Adem*. She is one of six contenders for the readers’ award, announced on Wednesday, according to ANP [1]. Noort has never won it.
The other nominees are Adriaan van Dis, with *Alles voor de reis*; Herman Koch, with *De overbodigen*; Simone van der Vlugt, with *Kruistocht van een koningin*; Francine Oomen, with *Hoe overleef ik alles wat anders gaat dan gedacht*; and Judith Fanto, with *Narcis*. Van Dis won in 2024, Koch in 2009 and Van der Vlugt in 2010. Oomen has previously been nominated once, while this is Fanto’s first nomination [1].
The award will be presented on 12 November for the 39th time, and this year marks 25 years with Dutch Railways (NS) as its main sponsor. A pop-up museum at Amsterdam Central Station will showcase the prize’s history, and readers and fans will be able to meet the nominated authors at various times. Public voting is open in the coming period [1].
Last year’s prize went to Paulien Cornelisse, who has since died, for *De verwarde cavia - Terug op kantoor* [1].
