Belgium’s Queen Mathilde is due to visit Saudi Arabia from 21 to 26 November as part of an economic mission announced by the Belgian court, Nieuws.nl reported. Most of the programme is planned for Riyadh, with activities in Dammam focused on energy, industry and infrastructure. [1]
The officials expected to accompany her include Flemish minister-president Matthias Diependaele, Walloon minister-president Adrien Dolimont, foreign minister Maxime Prévot and Brussels secretary of state for spatial planning Audrey Henry. [1]
It would be the queen’s second Belgian economic mission, following a visit to Turkey earlier this year. Belgium’s previous economic mission to Saudi Arabia was in 2014. [1]
