Belgian club Sint-Truiden VV have appointed Jonas De Roeck as head coach, taking over immediately as they try to halt a run of five consecutive league defeats. The move comes ahead of their Conference League match against Ajax on 10 December.
De Roeck, 46, replaces Frédéric De Meyer, who was dismissed earlier this week after STVV’s poor results. The club have eight points from 10 matches and sit 15th in Belgium’s top division.
It is De Roeck’s second spell in charge of STVV; he also coached the club in the 2017-18 season. He takes over training from assistant coach Sepp De Roover, who led the team from the bench in Thursday’s 1-1 draw with Norway’s SK Brann, according to ANP.
