The Calandbrug is open again after a motor fault left its deck partly raised and traffic unable to cross.
Review information is loading.
The Calandbrug has reopened to road traffic and shipping after a fault that left its bridge deck partly raised was repaired on Tuesday evening, Rijkswaterstaat says. The breakdown had forced road users to take detours since Monday afternoon.
The fault was caused by defective parts in the bridge motor, according to the report. Earlier in the day, the deck could not be lowered, leaving the bridge unusable. ProRail, which manages it, carried out the repair.
The bridge had also been closed to road traffic for several days earlier this month after lasers gave incorrect measurements.
