Boumans will take over the Dutch gymnastics federation on 1 November, after the world championships in Rotterdam.

Mark Boumans has been appointed chair of the Royal Dutch Gymnastics Federation (KNGU). He will succeed Monique Kempff, who has led the federation for almost ten years. Kempff will remain in post until after the World Artistic Gymnastics Championships in Rotterdam in October. [1]
Boumans is due to leave his post as mayor of Doetinchem soon. He has previously held administrative roles in basketball and volleyball. The KNGU said he brings experience from both sport and other fields. [1]
