Austrian Airlines says searches of a flight diverted to Bulgaria found nothing suspicious, and that the aircraft later continued to Vienna with all passengers aboard.
The flight from Tel Aviv to Vienna was diverted on Sunday after a threat was reported. Bulgaria’s transport ministry described it as a bomb threat while the plane was near the Romanian border, according to a report by Nieuws.nl carrying agency copy from ANP and Reuters. [1]
The Airbus A320, carrying 51 passengers and six crew, landed in Sofia on Sunday evening escorted by a Bulgarian fighter jet. Everyone on board was taken off while the aircraft, passengers and crew were searched. Austrian Airlines said on Monday that the searches found nothing suspicious and the plane then flew on to Vienna with its passengers. [1]
