FNV and CNV have given employers until noon on 7 October to meet their demands for a new collective agreement. The unions are preparing possible action from 12 October and are considering one strike day a week until Christmas. Negotiations broke down in July, after the previous agreement expired at the end of June. [1]
The unions want employers to withdraw proposals they say would worsen working conditions. FNV is also seeking measures on workload and arrangements for older workers, alongside a 6% pay rise. [1]
The agreement covers 13,000 employees, including workers at Arriva and Transdev. The employers’ association VWOV disputed the unions’ criticism in July, saying its proposals would distribute benefits and opportunities more fairly among staff rather than worsen conditions. [1]
