The Celebrity Traitors returned for a second series with Richard E Grant telling fellow contestants he was a traitor almost as soon as he had been selected. Presenter Maya Jama was also chosen as a traitor, with a third place still to be filled. [1]
Host Claudia Winkleman greeted the 21 celebrity contestants at a church after arriving in a closed coffin carried by druids. Jerry Hall called her “Claudiapatra”. Grant later said he had blurted out his role because he was excited to have been chosen. Hall did not believe him: she thought he was acting out because he had not been picked. [1]
In a pirate-ship treasure task, teams led by Ross Kemp and James Blunt secured £15,000. [1]
At the end of the episode, Grant and Jama summoned Amol Rajan and James Acaster. One was to become the third traitor and the other the first murder victim; the episode left both waiting in coffins for the decision. [1]
