Jessica Schilder misses final shortlist for European athletics award

Dutch shot putter Jessica Schilder is not among the three finalists for Europe’s women’s athlete of the year award, despite making the initial list of 10 nominees. [1]

The finalists are Switzerland’s Audrey Werro, Britain’s Amy Hunt and Italy’s Nadia Battocletti, ANP reported in a dispatch carried by Nieuws.nl. Schilder, from Volendam, won her third successive European title this year and became the first woman in 14 years to put the shot beyond 21 metres, the agency reported. [1]
