Tom Kim shot a final-round 64 to win the Asian Games individual golf title at 18 under par. The 24-year-old South Korean finished three strokes ahead of Japan’s K Higa, China’s W Ding and Thailand’s S Kaewkanjana. [1]
The gold gives Kim an exemption from South Korea’s usual 18 to 21 months of military service for able-bodied men. Asian Games champions must still complete basic training, which lasts less than a month, BBC Sport reports. [1]
