Lancashire have not offered James Anderson a new contract, leaving the England record wicket-taker’s future in county cricket uncertain.
Review information is loading.
James Anderson has not been offered a new contract by Lancashire, leaving the 44-year-old England great’s playing future uncertain as he approaches the end of a 26-year professional career. [1]
Anderson continued with the county after retiring from international cricket in 2024. He captained Lancashire in last season’s County Championship, when the club finished second-bottom in Division Two.
The decision means he will not play for Lancashire at Old Trafford in 2027, the summer he turns 45. It is not yet known whether he will retire or seek a deal with another county. [1]
