Delap double helps Forest beat City 3-1 as champions suffer third straight loss

Nottingham Forest beat Manchester City 3-1, with Liam Delap scoring twice against his former club as City suffered a third consecutive Premier League defeat. BBC Sport’s Shamoon Hafez gave Delap a rating of nine out of 10, the highest in his assessment of either side.

Forest defender Jair Cunha opened the scoring after pouncing on a loose ball in the sixth minute. Rayan Cherki pulled City level in the second half, but Delap restored Forest’s lead before adding a third. Hafez also awarded Cunha eight out of 10, praising his goal and a goal-line clearance.

The BBC reporter’s ratings reflected a difficult afternoon for City’s defence: goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, defenders Abdukodir Khusanov, Rúben Dias, Marc Guéhi and Joško Gvardiol each received four out of 10. Elliot Anderson and Erling Haaland were given five. These were Hafez’s assessments; the page also invited BBC users to submit their own ratings.
