Several Dutch political parties took their websites offline on Wednesday as a precaution after warnings about vulnerabilities in PHP, a widely used programming language.
The VVD, CDA, PRO, BBB and Party for the Animals said their sites had been temporarily taken down because of the risk. Volt’s website was unavailable for what it described as “maintenance”. The sites of D66, SGP, ChristenUnie, DENK and JA21 were also offline, but no reason was given for those outages; Nieuws.nl said they were likely linked to the PHP vulnerabilities. [1]
Websites belonging to the PVV, FVD, Groep Markuszower, SP and 50PLUS remained online. The Dutch House of Representatives and MijnOverheid, a government services website, were also taken offline as a precaution. [1]
