Deliberate damage to railway cables has caused several train cancellations in Germany’s North Rhine-Westphalia state, ANP/DPA reported on 26 September. Passenger information service Zuginfo.nrw said rail traffic was disrupted across the Gelsenkirchen region. Deutsche Bahn said services between Dortmund and Munich, and between Cologne and northern Germany, were among those affected. Police are investigating possible cable theft. [1]
Dutch rail operator NS said the disruption had not affected trains between the Netherlands and Germany. It was not yet clear how long repairs would take. [1]
