Charli xcx cancels Arizona concert after losing her voice

Charli xcx has cancelled a concert in Arizona after losing her voice, saying she had been fighting illness during her current tour. The show, scheduled for Wednesday evening, was the British singer’s penultimate date on her Music, Fashion, Film tour.[1]

In a message on Instagram, she said she had “lost my voice completely” and that it broke her heart not to perform. Her team had worked to find a new date but had been unable to do so, she said, and she apologised to fans while promising to return to Arizona in future.[1]

Charli xcx began the tour in Philadelphia on 11 September and performed two nights in Los Angeles over the weekend. Its final concert is scheduled for Friday in Los Angeles; she said she hoped to be well enough to take the stage. She is also due to perform in Europe next year, including at Amsterdam’s Ziggo Dome.[1]
