A 2–1 home defeat to Moldova has left John van ’t Schip without a win in his first three matches as Kazakhstan coach.

Kazakhstan lost 2–1 to Moldova in Astana, extending John van ’t Schip’s winless start as national team coach to three matches. Nicky Clescenco put Moldova ahead, and Petru Popescu scored its second goal after half-time. Nuraly Alip pulled one back shortly after the hour mark, but Kazakhstan could not equalise. [1]
The defeat followed a loss to Slovakia earlier in the week. Van ’t Schip’s first match in charge was a 1–1 draw with the Faroe Islands. [1]
Van ’t Schip previously coached the national teams of Greece and Armenia, and was in charge of Ajax from autumn 2023 to spring 2024. [1]
