Early voting in the US midterms had reached 47.9 million by 30 October, beating the previous record set in 2022, days before election day.

By 30 October, 47.9 million Americans had already voted in the 2026 midterm elections, surpassing the previous early-voting record of 45.9 million set in 2022. The figures were reported by the University of Florida’s Election Lab, according to ANP and AFP.
The elections for the Senate and House of Representatives, as well as governorships in some states, are scheduled for 3 November. Early voting is available by post or in person at polling stations that have opened ahead of election day.
More registered Democrats than Republicans had voted by the time of the report, the Election Lab said. That count does not show how voters chose candidates, and early-voting totals alone do not establish the eventual result. President Donald Trump also voted early in his home state of Florida over the weekend, the report said.
