The Flemish author’s book about nature at risk of disappearing has won the third Natuurboekenprijs.

Flemish author Tine Hens has won the 2026 Natuurboekenprijs for *Archief van mogelijk verlies*, a book about plants, animals and natural phenomena at risk of disappearing. The winner was announced on Sunday morning during the Dutch radio programme *Vroege Vogels*. [1]
The prize for the best Dutch-language nature book is presented by *Vroege Vogels*, LandschappenNL and *de Volkskrant*. Now in its third edition, it carries €5,000 and a drawing of the winner by artist Raoul Deleo. [1]
The organisers say Hens’s book asks readers to consider what could be lost without a shift towards restoring and caring for nature. The jury praised its lyrical but sombre approach, as well as its woodcut illustrations by Jan De Kinder. [1]
A separate audience prize went to *Crossbill Natuurgids Nederland deel 1 en 2*, written by Dirk Hilbers and Constant Swinkels. [1]
