Two more 16-year-old boys have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder after five teenagers were stabbed at a Halloween party in Chandler’s Ford, Hampshire, bringing the total number of arrests to six, police say.
The boys, both from Southampton, were arrested on Thursday. One 17-year-old victim remains in hospital in a serious condition; the other four have been discharged.
Police said an “unknown group” entered the party at a home on Park Road over a garden fence shortly after 22:30 GMT on Saturday. All five injured boys had been invited to the supervised event.
Two 16-year-olds arrested earlier in the week remain in custody after officers were granted more time to question them. Two other boys arrested and questioned have been released on bail.
Detective Chief Inspector Elizabeth Pirie, who is leading the investigation, said police were working with the Crown Prosecution Service to assess the evidence and whether there were grounds to authorise charges. She said officers were continuing to investigate and appealed for witnesses and anyone with relevant information to come forward.
The arrests are the latest development in the investigation into the stabbing.
