Ayra Starr is preparing for an NFL half-time show in London that BBC Newsbeat says would mark a first for an African artist.
According to BBC Newsbeat, the Philadelphia Eagles are due to play the Jacksonville Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London on Sunday, with Nigerian singer Ayra Starr scheduled to headline the half-time show. BBC Newsbeat says she would be the first African artist to headline a half-time performance at one of the NFL’s international games [1].
Ahead of the game, Ayra Starr told BBC Newsbeat that the planned performance “itself is a message”. Starr said she was still rehearsing and that the planned show would include tracks from her album *Starrgirl*, which BBC Newsbeat reports was released in August [1].
