BBC News reported that police raided Halk TV’s premises in Istanbul early on Wednesday, 14 October. The opposition-aligned broadcaster said officers entered the building and stopped staff from going inside. Citing journalists who posted on X, the BBC said those initially unable to enter were later allowed in. [1] [2]
The BBC said Halk TV’s news channel and YouTube live broadcasts were offline early that morning. Reuters reported that the channel’s live broadcast was cut at 06:30 local time (03:30 GMT), after which pre-recorded material began airing. [1] [3]
