Almost 15,500 requests to use electricity were on waiting lists at Dutch regional grid operators at the end of June 2026, up from 15,154 at the end of 2025, according to grid industry group Netbeheer Nederland. The figures count requests, not necessarily individual companies. [1]
Nearly 1,700 requests came off the waiting lists during the first half of 2026, the group said. The separate queue for requests to feed electricity into the grid edged down from 8,612 at the end of 2025 to 8,558 at the end of June. [1]
Netbeheer Nederland says more businesses are using the grid flexibly by reducing their electricity use at busy times, creating room to connect organisations in more places. It cautions that some areas still need further measures. [1]
