England footballer Ivan Toney pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on 1 October. The charge concerns an alleged incident at a nightclub on Wardour Street in Soho on 6 December 2025. [1] [2] [3]
Toney, 30, is accused of headbutting and punching Saber Da Silva. Police charged him on 31 July. [1] [3]
District Judge Briony Clarke said the case could be tried in the magistrates’ court, but Toney chose a Crown Court trial. He was granted unconditional bail ahead of a hearing at Southwark Crown Court on 29 October. His spokesperson said he was shocked by the charge and looked forward to clearing his name in court.
