Mark Bressers will take charge of the Netherlands’ independent digital infrastructure regulator from 1 January 2027, after the cabinet approved his appointment.
Review information is loading.
Mark Bressers will become inspector-general of the Netherlands’ Digital Infrastructure Inspectorate (RDI) on 1 January 2027, following approval by the cabinet. The inspector-general leads the independent regulator, which oversees the availability, reliability and security of the country’s digital infrastructure.
Bressers has worked at the Netherlands Emissions Authority since October 2018, first as acting director and then as its director-general. Before that, he was director for reducing regulatory burdens and the digital economy at the Ministry of Economic Affairs.
The government says the RDI’s work includes tackling hybrid threats, cloud storage inside and outside Europe, and growing dependencies across digital supply chains. Bressers’ appointment was made through the procedure for the senior civil service management group.
