Lady Gaga, Shakira, P!nk and Sia are among the artists nominated for the Songwriters Hall of Fame, with voting by the organisation’s members open until 14 December.
The nominees were announced on Thursday. The Hall, founded in 1969, considers songwriters whose first released song was at least 20 years ago. It recognises both performers who write their own material and writers who compose for other artists.
Other names on the list include Boy George, Jack White, Debbie Harry and Chris Stein of Blondie, and Ne-Yo. Will.i.am, a member of the Black Eyed Peas, is not listed in the performing-artist category.
The successful candidates are due to be announced in January. The induction ceremony is usually held in June. Taylor Swift joined the Hall this year, becoming its youngest inductee, Nieuws.nl reported.
