K3 has cancelled its Saturday-night performance at Qmusic The Party Fout! XXL in Apeldoorn after singer Hanne Verbruggen began her maternity leave earlier than planned. The group said on Instagram that performing an energetic show was not a responsible choice at this time. Kabouter Plop will replace K3 at the event.
Verbruggen, who is expecting her second child, said she was sorry to disappoint fans, but that some things were too important to risk unnecessarily. K3 said its other performances would go ahead as planned.
Dutch singer Klaasje Meijer is due to rejoin the group as Verbruggen’s temporary replacement from Friday, alongside Julia Boschman and Marthe De Pillecyn. Meijer also filled in for De Pillecyn during her maternity leave last summer; she was a member of K3 from 2015 to 2021.
