Review information is loading.
Shareholders approved Garnier’s appointment to the board at an extraordinary general meeting, according to an ANP report published by Nieuws.nl. He is due to succeed Frans Muller as chief executive in 2027, though the report gives no exact handover date. Garnier has led British DIY retailer Kingfisher since September 2019. Ahold Delhaize is the parent company of Albert Heijn, bol and Etos. [1]
Shareholders also approved board appointments for Margaret Versteden-Van Duijn and Claire Peters, both taking effect immediately. Versteden-Van Duijn, formerly head of Albert Heijn, has led Ahold Delhaize’s Europe and Indonesia operations since 1 October. Peters heads Ahold Delhaize USA. Finance chief Jolande Poots-Bijl remains on the board, as does Muller, who has been chief executive since 2018 and is set to remain a board member until the end of 2027. [1]
