One person was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation after a fire in an accommodation block at Catterick Garrison on Thursday evening, BBC News reported, citing North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service. [1]
The fire service said multiple crews were sent at 19:48 BST and found the blaze “well alight”. Firefighters remained at the scene until 02:43 BST on Friday. [1]
The response at Gaza Barracks drew support from several other fire stations. A crew from Darlington attended to assist with an aerial ladder platform, a spokesperson for County Durham and Darlington Fire and Rescue Service said. [1]
