French authorities say two people were seriously injured when a minibus collided with a freight train near the Channel Tunnel, revising an earlier media estimate of five.

French authorities have revised down the number of people seriously injured in a collision between a minibus and a freight train near the French end of the Channel Tunnel, reporting two serious injuries rather than the five initially reported by French media. Nineteen people were hurt in total, according to authorities cited by Nieuws.nl [1].
The two seriously injured passengers were flown to a hospital in Lille. Other injured people were taken to hospitals in the region. The minibus driver was among those hurt.
The cause of the collision was not known. Eurostar services were not disrupted by the incident, the report said, citing media accounts attributed to the rail operator. Any suspended trains were affected by planned engineering work, not the collision [1].
