PSV lost 1–0 away to RB Leipzig, according to an ANP report published by Nieuws.nl on 14 October, but coach Peter Bosz said they had played the better football and that the defeat was unnecessary. [1]
Speaking to Ziggo Sport, Bosz said disappointment was his overriding feeling. He thought PSV had played well over the 90 minutes and had been the better side for much of the match. He acknowledged that they had allowed Leipzig several chances, but said PSV had created chances too. He singled out Ivan Perišić’s missed penalty as their biggest opportunity and said his side had shown they could play good football in a difficult away match. [1]
The report said PSV began their Champions League campaign with a 1–1 home draw against Shakhtar Donetsk in September and were due to play away to FC Porto in the competition the following week. [1]
