Vickrum Digwa can challenge his 21-year minimum term in November, while the Attorney General’s office argues that the sentence was too lenient.

Vickrum Digwa has been given permission to challenge the length of his sentence at the Court of Appeal on 5 November. He was jailed for life in June, with a minimum term of 21 years, for murdering 18-year-old student Henry Nowak. Digwa stabbed him to death in Southampton in December 2025. [1]
The court is also due to consider a referral from the Attorney General’s office, which argues that the sentence was too lenient. Permission to appeal does not change Digwa’s sentence. [1]
Digwa has also applied to appeal his murder conviction. A decision on that application is separate from his permitted challenge to the length of his sentence. [1]
