Navarro, 25, described physical and mental difficulties dating back to 2023 in an open letter on Instagram, as reported by ANP. She said she was diagnosed with RED-S in late 2025. The condition leaves the body without enough energy for everyday activities and physical exertion. Navarro described difficulty thinking clearly, remembering things and putting her thoughts into words. [1]
She reached the US Open quarter-finals this year before ending her season. During the period she described, she also made the 2024 US Open semi-finals, rose to eighth in the world rankings and won the Strasbourg WTA tournament in 2026. [1]
Navarro is feeling better after changes to her diet, ANP reported. She said she would spend the rest of 2026 adjusting her medication and nutrition plans, hoping to feel fully fit in 2027. [1]
