Chelsea have been charged by the Football Association over alleged discriminatory chanting by supporters during their Premier League win at Fulham on 24 August 2026. [1]
The charge, brought under FA Rule E21, concerns behaviour in the ninth minute of the match at Craven Cottage. In a statement quoted by BBC Sport, the FA alleged that Chelsea failed to prevent improper, offensive, abusive or insulting behaviour by their supporters. It further alleged that the conduct was discriminatory because it included an express or implied reference to religion or belief. [1]
After the 3–2 victory, Chelsea wrote to supporters acknowledging that they had received “multiple reports of sectarian chanting from a small portion” of fans, BBC Sport reported. [1]
Chelsea said they did not condone discriminatory chants and warned that fans found guilty would face “the strongest possible action”. [1]
