Bournemouth beat Manchester United 3-0 at Old Trafford as Bruno Fernandes watched from the bench and Michael Carrick’s side endured another difficult day.
The BBC rated Bournemouth’s Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson 8 out of 10, the highest marks in its player ratings. Rayan scored the opener with a first-time finish, Tavernier finished Bournemouth’s second and Evanilson struck the third. Justin Kluivert earned a 7 for the free-kick that set up the opening goal.
United’s highest-rated players were Harry Maguire and Bryan Mbeumo, both given 6. Goalkeeper Senne Lammens received 4 after a costly error on Bournemouth’s third goal. Leny Yoro was marked 5 after an error contributed to the visitors’ second.
Fernandes, United’s captain, was among the unused substitutes. Carrick had called his omission from the starting line-up “a football decision” before the match. The midfielder had been left out after criticising United’s tactics following their 4-1 Champions League defeat by Como.
United’s defeat came after a seven-game winless run in all competitions. Bournemouth have now won at Old Trafford for the third time in four years, according to the BBC.
