The death toll at Dammam’s airport has risen from one to two. Officials say flights have resumed, but have not identified an attacker.

Two people were killed and eight injured in an attack on King Fahd International Airport in Dammam on Wednesday evening, Saudi Arabia’s General Authority of Civil Aviation said on Thursday. The authority initially reported one death before confirming a second.
It identified those killed as a Saudi citizen and an Indian resident. The injured include a Saudi citizen, two residents each from India, Yemen and Bangladesh, and one from Nepal. Their injuries range from minor to serious, the authority said.
Flights were diverted away from the airport after the attack, according to flight-tracking service Flightradar24, as reported by the Associated Press. The aviation authority later said airport operations had resumed and air traffic had returned to normal. It was still assessing the damage.
The attack came amid a wider wave of strikes on Saudi airports and energy sites. Earlier on Wednesday, the Saudi energy ministry reported a separate incident at the Shaybah oil field, where it said debris from an intercepted drone killed two people. Those deaths are not part of the airport toll.
The UN Security Council condemned earlier Houthi attacks on Saudi airports this month, following strikes in Riyadh for which the group claimed responsibility. Saudi authorities have not said how the Dammam airport was attacked or who carried it out.
