Former Sint Maarten finance minister Perry F.M. Geerlings will take up a three-year term on the financial oversight board on 1 October 2026, succeeding Julisa Frans.

The Kingdom Council of Ministers has approved Perry F.M. Geerlings’s nomination to the Board of Financial Supervision for Curaçao and Sint Maarten (Cft), the independent body overseeing the two countries’ public finances. His three-year appointment begins on 1 October 2026. [1]
Geerlings was nominated by Sint Maarten and will succeed Julisa Frans, the board’s current member on behalf of the country. Frans has been granted an honourable discharge effective on the same date. The appointment was announced on 25 September. [1]
Geerlings currently serves on Sint Maarten’s Corporate Governance Council, an independent advisory body overseeing sound governance at government-owned companies and foundations. He previously served as Sint Maarten’s finance minister, a member of its parliament and director of the office of its Minister Plenipotentiary. He has also held various roles in the financial sector. The Cft’s remit is to monitor the soundness of public finances in Curaçao and Sint Maarten, flagging concerns and providing advice. [1]
